Becoming a Participant

The criteria for attending Cosmo as a Participant in one of our programs are:
Cosmo accepts individuals with intellectual disabilities who are at least 21 years of age, although exceptions can be made for people between 18 and 21 if it is determined that attending Cosmo is in their best interest.

Applications are submitted by a Case Worker from the Ministry of Social Services if the province will be covering the costs of support services and transportation. Applications for individuals with other funding arrangements can be made by contacting Cosmo for details.

The applicant must reside in Saskatoon or the surrounding area and have made an informed decision to attend by first touring Cosmo along with their support network and meeting the Senior Program Staff.

Applicants with any acute or chronic (i.e., MRSA, tuberculosis, etc.) communicable diseases which may pose a risk to safety for self and/or others, shall be evaluated on an individual basis by the Nurse/Treatment Room team.

Preparing to Apply

Most applicants are funded through the Ministry of Social Services. It is the Ministry who fills out an application on behalf of a client.
